What Will You Do When Your Website Crashes at 2am?
One of the most important things you need to do as an entrepreneur is protect your website. How, you wonder? By investing up front in a premium design that’s coded with security in mind. We’ve all heard the stories of bloggers and business owners who lost everything (blog posts, images, etc) because they didn’t invest in a high-quality website and it crashed, leaving them scrambling. Don’t make the same mistake! I’ve listed quite a few premium, securely coded themes below for you to choose from. Just don’t wait to install one, time is of the essence!
Premium WordPress Themes
Now more than ever before, it’s also critical that you choose a responsive WordPress theme for your website or blog. This is true for bloggers and businesses that are intentionally driving traffic to their website, and especially critical if you’re relying on that traffic to earn an income! Did you know that an average of 60% or more of your traffic is from people browsing on their mobile devices? It’s true! Google and Pinterest know this too, which is why they’re both rewarding websites and blogs that are responsive aka mobile-friendly. 📲
I talk with bloggers and business owners on a daily basis and am often shocked to discover how many don’t realize how important it is to use premium, responsive WordPress themes for their website’s design. Let’s break it down real quick!
Search Engine 101
Search engines, like Google and Pinterest (yes, Pinterest) allow users to search for information using keywords. They then rank the resulting websites based on countless factors like keyword count etc. We’re not going to get into all the factors in this post, but let’s just say one of the factors they rank websites highest for is responsiveness. Why? The search engine’s engineers know that most people are searching with their phones so they want to provide them with results that are optimized for mobile devices for an exceptional user experience.
The Good News
If your website or blog is already optimized for mobile traffic then you’re golden! The search engines will rank your website accordingly. The bad news? If it’s not, well, you’re business may take a hit soon, if it hasn’t already. 😬 Luckily you can find a lot of clean, responsive WordPress themes to purchase online, in fact, I’ve listed some my favorites below. Once you install your new theme and the search engines crawl your website you’ll begin to notice it start to rank higher and will start seeing more traffic coming from Google. 👀
Premium WordPress Themes
Quality WordPress themes are not the only thing you need to pay attention to! Images matter just as much, if not more. Why? Visual searches are increasing, especially on Pinterest. The stats prove that the majority of people are browsing and pinning on mobile devices. Have you looked at your blog’s images on your phone lately? If not, check them out! If they’re larger than 2:3 ratio aka 600 x 900 (or maximum 735 x 1102) you’re likely to see a drop in your Pinterest traffic too! Side note: while I’m aware Pinterest has “approved” the 735 x 1102 image ratio, I personally try to stick to 600 x 900. Why? Phone screens are small. Very, very small. Do you want to spend all your time designing and posting images that are larger than 600 x 900 to find out in 6 months or a year that Pinterest updated their algorithm again, to only show images that are 600 x 900? I don’t!
Rolling out The Changes
Luckily these changes are simple to make! You can easily purchase responsive WordPress themes and install them in no time at all. You can also adjust your future images to be sized for optimal mobile viewing. Just don’t hesitate. You may not see the traffic change yet, or notice the drop in income today, but trust me, you will eventually and it will likely be overnight! Don’t risk losing business. Visitors that arrive at your blogs and websites that aren’t optimized for mobile devices leave in a blink of an eye! Don’t drive them to your competitors website or blog, keep them on yours. View the responsive WordPress themes below and install one right away!
